Can we have a clue?

This evening's homework will be a review of evaluating and patterns before we start the fun of equivalent expressions tomorrow. Be sure to bring your math brains tomorrow because ALL of you need to be involved in the exploration and discussion during class. Today's discussion on how to represent 28 is a good place to start. It only gets better from here.

IN ADDITION TO THE HOMEWORK ASSIGNED IN CLASS: Please complete #23 in section 1.2. I neglected to assign this question, but it is essential to our discussion tomorrow.

Also, for those of you looking for an additional challenge (and the blog is a great place to discuss this...as are the hallways), a follow-up to the pizza problem in the book: give an expression for the maximum number of pieces that you could make with n straight cuts of a pizza? (The cuts do not have to go through the center.) Create a chart for the first five cuts and resulting pieces to help you establish a pattern. Have fun!

if you threw the little paper out, don't worry about it. any little paper will do. the most important thing is that you have a response and an explanation. :)
