properties are "off the hook"

Today we further explored how to prove equivalency of expressions using properties. If you still aren't convinced how cool properties are (because they prove equivalency for all real numbers!), I hope you will be after tonight's homework.

That said, tonight's homework is to complete simplifying expression B, section 2.5 (6-9), and LM 2.5A #5. Try not to have too much fun with it!

i have a question on one of the properties! Related Facts Property of addition and subtrction is that just like the number triangles of similar numbers we worked on in 5th grade??

also.. i defiantly agree that properties "off the hook" my favorite is the algebraic definition of subtraction.

yes the related facts property is just stating that that you can do the fact triangles and that they work for every number.
