the time has come...

First off, I will apologize for setting a bad example. I do not post as frequently on the blog as I should. In order to make this an effective tool for communication, I too must be involved.

As you know, tomorrow is the test for chapter 1. Post any last minute questions on the blog or shoot me an e-mail. Hopefully a classmate or I will be able to help you out. I know you have all been busy studying over the weekend and will be well prepared. :)

Remember to review notes, quizzes, and homework. Also remember to get a good night's sleep and eat breakfast. I am excited to conclude the first chapter and delve into the second! Happy studying!

i have a last minute question......
when an expression has a number and the exponent has a number and a variable in it, what should you do first? (its kind of hard to explain on a computer)
ex: (-1)^3n

Good question...you should evaluate the exponent first and then evaluate the rest.

following your example: if n=4,

(-1)^(3*4)= (-1)^(12)= 1
