You've all heard me talk about the new greatest book out there, Math Doesn't Suck, by Danica McKellar. On Monday evening she spoke at Borders, and let me tell you it was fabulous! I am seeing some of you have "break-throughs" in and out of class, and this is so encouraging! I know that some of the topics we are discussing can be scary and challenging at first--do not give up! Take the time to consider and understand what is going on. I would rather you take your time to do the work and get the correct answer than have you speed through the work and arrive at an incorrect answer.
Tomorrow we will be having a quiz on sections 1 and 2 from chapter 2. Make sure you are well versed in simplifying expressions using the distributive property as well as in factoring. You will need to have a complete understanding of the phrase "combine like terms" in order to simplify and factor accurately. If you have any last minute questions, come see me tomorrow morning!
